The Vallerina

Her voice is that of a piano, so sweet and soft each note playing a different melody,

Her bubbly personality fills us all up warmth,

Her spirit is through the roof,

With her pretty pink dress and her sparkly silver shoes with bows,

She shines and radiates like the Sun,

She says she has red shoes like silver, like Dorothy's and how nice to see she has been to Oz and seen the Wizard

A Ballerina she wants to become,

She has the Talent,

the Heart

the Support

the Love

The way she moves is that of a painter painting a work of art,

She, my friends, is a work of art...

Inspiration
I met someone who now is very close to me because of her bigger-than-earth heart and soul. She stood out immediately, not afraid to dance in Sweet Tomatoes. And let me tell you, for a girl that young, she is good. My heart goes out to my little Ballerina or should I say Vallerina... she knows who she is. I will assure you I am not finished but I wanted her to see this.

Family

The family of eleven,

Heated by the Fire and warmth of them all,

Eat together, Sleep together, Be together

Work till their backs break, Chores always some more

Always Trusted by others who know

Lasted through the Bad Times

The president Roosevelt was baffled

Out they came through memories of Tragedy, of War, of Love

No! They won't be forgotten though they are heros of the Depression

Said them all "Good Night, Everybody" !

Inspiration
As you all know by now, I always write my inspiration for all of my poems and well, this one is  little more subtle. I gave you many hints in this one poem but can you guess this family? This is a huge inspiration probably my biggest and ever since I discovered them, I couldn't stop watching. Can you guess? Do your research and post a comment! (Hint: The name of the family is in the poem itself)

The trail into the land of poetry

I was biking on my mountain bike, passing all the trees,

As the honey bees kept whizzing by and the leaves blossomed green,

I felt a gentle breeze in the air as I rode up the mighty peek,

I felt myself sinking and realized I was in a creek,

I watched the silky water flow so smoothly over the rocks,

I got my bike out of the water and standing there was a fox,

She started to speak to me in a soft and syrupy way,

I was shocked that she could talk and I didn't know what to say,

She told that there was a land where everything was so pretty,

I wanted to go there and so I asked, but all she did was look down and said there is only one way...

"The Trail into the land of Poetry!"

Summer!

I watch as the wisps of dandelions float into the air like little marshmallows,

I see the honeybees fly into the fragrance of the flowers as they set the sunny fairy-tale and I know a new day is about to begin,

I see the trees dancing to the sunny beat and I know the music of the morning awaits me,

I discover a new world amongst the trees and flowers where everything is blooming with joy and everyday is sunny,

I watch as little children play outside, basking in the sunlight,

I go outside, breathe in the fresh air and I bathe in the silky sunlight and I definitely know that the sun is waiting for me!

Inspiration: I woke up in the morning and I looked outside and I am like, I have to write a poem about this!

Good vs. Evil

Good is the smile on a child's face,
Evil is the frown that taunts you everyday,

Good is the radiant sun, up so high,
Evil is the black moon that nestles below the sky,

Good is a plaque of gold with perfect arrangement,
Evil is a plaque of marble with no achievement,

Good is the light of a candle,
Evil is the darkness of a scandal,

Good is the color blue of the mighty Pacific ocean,
Evil is the color red of the blood we shed,

Good is the peace we have within us,
Evil is the war intertwined within you that makes such a fuss.

The Ravishing Garden

I walked past the Worry Tree, the home of my sorrows tied with red and orange strings of memories,

I strolled down the ochre path, gleaming in the afternoon sun,

I placed the palm of my hand on the sleek, shimmering black gate,

I arrived at the garden wall, guarding what nestles beyond

I cruised in and came to the The Ravishing Garden, my happy place,

As I entered, the radiant daffodils greeted me with delight and giggles!

The blood-red roses danced around me with passion,

The violets, chrysanthemums and daisies cheered with smiling faces filled with joy,

At that moment, I felt like time itself had frozen, and every little thing was going to be alright,

I felt warm inside because my star had entered me and was filling me with light,

An electric current zapped through my arms and legs and hands and fingers,

From the top of my head, to the tip of my toes

I feel like the sun was laughing inside me and my heart was content!

Inspiration: My inspiration was that I had a class that really opened up my eyes and made me visualize a place that I could go to if I had a bad day at school and so I did visualize it in my head and I wrote a poem about it!

Winter Wonderland

A blanket of white covers the roofs of houses

A streetlight shines bright with dignity thinking "I may be the only one, but I shine like the stars themselves"

A once green, grassy hill was snow a steep, snowy embankment

A tree was trembling as it tried to straighten it's spine

A rock, as hard and strong as it was felt as light as a feather

A snowflake drifts from the sky like the laughter that comes from children on Christmas day

It ran across my face and melts on my cheek

I gazed at the beautiful scene and let myself take a mental picture in my head and thought,

"What a Winter Wonderland!"

29 December, 2009
I glanced outside and spotted pine trees that were covered in snow. Everything was white! I was hoping for snow and my prayers were answered. So I had to write a poem about it!
